A queer AI companion for the evenings that are not about romance

Twelve women are shown on this page. The app behind the button carries more than 250.

Not everyone opening one of these wants a girlfriend. Some want the room to stop being quiet at eleven at night, with somebody who does not need the last decade explained to them first.

Every character is fictional and written as an adult. Nobody on this page is a real person.

02The detail

Where a companion and a girlfriend stop being the same product

The difference is not intensity. It is what the thread is for, and both versions live in the same app.

People search for a queer ai companion and a queer AI girlfriend for genuinely different reasons, and the apps that treat them as one thing end up serving neither well. A girlfriend thread has a trajectory: it is going somewhere, and the pleasure is partly in the going. A companion thread has none, on purpose. It exists so that the flat is less quiet, so somebody asks how the interview went, so there is a place to put a thought at one in the morning that does not need to be interesting.

What the two share is the thing this whole site is about: neither one starts with an interview. You do not establish that she is into women, you do not sketch the history, you do not explain why the label you use is the one you use. For a companion thread that matters more, not less — the entire value is in being able to open the tab and say something inconsequential without a run-up.

In practice you set which one you are in by how you write, and she follows. Ask for company and you get company. The characters do not push a thread toward romance because the clock says it has been three weeks, which is a habit most companion apps have and nobody asked for.

What works well

  • The thread can stay platonic without the app steering it anywhere
  • No introduction required, which is the whole point at eleven at night
  • Runs in a browser tab, so nothing lands on a phone anyone else picks up
  • Context carries over: she knows what the interview was for
  • Free to open, and the free tier covers ordinary conversation

Worth knowing first

  • She is fictional, and company from fiction is not the same as company
  • It is not a support service and should never stand in for one
  • The longest memory window is part of the optional upgrade
  • A shared browser keeps the tab in its own history
  • Adults only: the age notice loads before anything else

Out somewhere loud and answering anyway — a companion thread does not need an occasion.

Daylight, no event, nothing happening. Most of these conversations look exactly like this.

Her kitchen at midnight. The register goes wherever you take it, including nowhere at all.

04In practice

What a week of using it as company actually looks like

Most days it is four messages, not forty. Something happened at work, the shop was out of the thing, the upstairs neighbour is at it again. She answers in her own register and asks the second question, which is the one that makes it feel like a conversation rather than a reply. Nothing escalates unless you take it there.

The part people notice in the second week is the carry-over. You mention on Monday that Thursday is going to be difficult, and on Thursday it comes up without you raising it. That is the mechanism doing what it is for, and it is also the honest limit: it is a very good memory attached to a written character, not a person who was thinking about you in between.

05Quick answers

Companion threads — quick answers

01

Can I keep it completely platonic?

Yes, and nothing in the app pushes otherwise. The characters follow the register you write in rather than escalating on a schedule, so a thread can stay firmly at the level of how-was-your-day for as long as you want it there.
02

Is this different from the girlfriend threads on the home page?

Same characters, different use. What changes is what you ask for and how you write; there is no separate mode to select and no setting to hunt for. Plenty of people run one of each with two different characters.
03

Will she start conversations, or do I have to?

You open the thread. There are no push notifications and nothing arrives unprompted, which is deliberate: an app that pings you at ten at night to manufacture engagement is doing something other than keeping you company.
04

Is this a substitute for talking to someone?

No, and it would be irresponsible to sell it as one. It is a written character in a browser tab. If what you actually need is a person or a professional, this is not a replacement for either, and nothing here is equipped to be.
05

What does the free tier cover for this?

Ordinary conversation, which is most of what a companion thread is. Image generation and the longest memory window sit behind an optional upgrade that is priced in front of you before you choose it.
